I had a stash of indigo fabrics from Japan, my own hand dyed indigo, a linen skirt that was white and indigo floral print, etc. I decided to just start doing something with it and decided on patches that I could put in a quilt or whatever. I had so much fun working in a color I love. Here is a picture of one I got from Japan that had a very wide 4 inch selvege so I took the image on the fabric and extended it into the selvege by drawing with my Sharpies, colored pencils and gel pens.
